Big Canoe is experiencing a little "chill" in the air today. However, that is what makes the month of December so wonderful. There are so many parties to go to that you almost have to have a social secretary to handle all your engagements.

We are a friendly group of people, those who call Big Canoe home. I guess that is one of the reasons I tell people why I sell real estate here. I am always wanting to "open the gates" and welcome newcomers in to also enjoy my paradise.

One thing I learned while living in the North Georgia mountains is that bears don't hibernate here. While conducting a search and recuse for one of our residents (my husband and I are members of Big Canoe Emergency Response Team), we were out in the winter cold at 10PM one night. I was going around yelling out the name of our lost person and looking behind fallen trees. The comment I made to my team members was something like "I sure am glad bears hibernate in the winter". Much to my chagrin, I was informed that the winters aren't that cold here so the bears DON'T hibernate. Remember that when you are hiking through the woods during the winter in North Gerogia!

December 1st, 2008 has brought a light snow to the North Georgia Mountains. Our first of the season. Such a peaceful place to live. So quiet at times, you can hear a leaf fall in the woods. Going to church yesterday at the Big Canoe Chapel we saw a group of wild turkeys, several deer and a black wolf. All God's creatures living together in harmony with mankind.

I am blessed to live in the beautiful community of Big Canoe®. This is a private 8,000 acre gated area just one hour north of Atlanta. I not only live here, I worship, play and work in this lush surrounding. One has to think that this is truly Heaven on earth!
