Winter came early to Big Canoe this December. You don't have to be a child to enjoy the first sprinkling of snow. Whatever age, the excitement and the beauty still thrills me! My Broker, Chip Perry, shot this photo from his deck. His house, which incidentally is up for sale, has one of the most stunning views in Big Canoe. One of his "hobbies" is to build a house, live it in for a few years, then sell it. Whoever purchases this house, will be one very lucky person and envied by all who come to visit! Happy New Year!

MERRY CHRISTMAS
AND A
VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR
This is my very favorite time of the year. Not because my birthday is in December, but because of what this holiday season is all about. JESUS is the reason for the season! We can buy dozens of gifts for family members and friends, but my husband and I take time to do random acts of kindness for other people as gifts for our family and we ask them to do the same for us.
So my wish for you this holiday season is abundant blessings, happy memories with family and friends, and time to be thankful for all you have.
If you feel the need to venture out of the house during January, give me a call and come for a visit to Big Canoe. Cabin fever strikes us all!

Thanksgiving Right Around The Corner

I know that Thanksgiving is right around the corner. The wild turkey are roaming around Big Canoe in clusters, the air is getting brisk and the leaves are starting to fall from the trees. The weekends are filled with sports and fall festivals with very little time left to just plain relax.

My husband I took time the other day just to sit on the deck and observe the beauty that surrounds us, watching a woodpecker dive through the trees in chase of another bird. How many opportunities do you have just to stand/sit still and be at peace? Take some time today to do just that. I heard someone say their body is going so fast, their soul doesn't have time to catch up with it.

Enjoy the moment with someone you love!

Summer Is Flying By

You can tell summer is coming to an end when all the children return back to school. The pools are empty during the day and parents are all celebrating! I am long past the days of buying school supplies and staying up at night to help with homework, but somehow, I wish for those days back. My child is now 36, married and with a child of her own. She is off on her own adventures as a parent. As far as her Father and I go, we are enjoying the good life here in the community of Big Canoe. Every day we pinch ourselves to see if this is real and we thank God He planted us here.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!
Hard to believe that half the year is over and we are going to celebrate our nations birth this Sunday. This year in Big Canoe, we are planning a whole weekend of celebration. There will be a concert on Friday night at our outdoor Terraces Amphitheater with the Army Jazz Band, Saturday fun and games for the children and Sunday, fireworks set off for everyone to enjoy. Of course, we will be eating far more than we need to and promising to go on a diet the next day!
It has been said that you savor life more as you grow older. I truly believe that. I am taking time to smell the roses, look at the leaves on the tree, stand in amazement at the hummingbirds hovering over our flowers and just enjoyimg life.
I think that this place, where I live, work, play and worship, can invoke a sense of peace and tranquility most people never enjoy. If you happen to be near my paradise, give me a call and I will open the gate for your entrance.

Its that time of the year when all the summer time activities keep families busy here in Big Canoe. The swimming pools and beach are filled with people looking to spend a relaxing day soaking up the sun. Our magnificent water slide in the mountain, provides hours of enjoyment for all ages. In my earlier years, I have been known to slide down a time or two with our daughter. Now she is grown and brings our granddaughter to join in the excitement.
Come for a visit - stay for a lifetime.
Memories are being made each and every day here in the beautiful paradise called Big Canoe!

SPRING HAS ARRIVED IN BIG CANOE®

Spring has officially arrived in Big Canoe. My black SUV has turned a pale shade of yellow and will probably stay that way until the end of May. I love this time of the year. Of course, some friends of mine are having a terrible time with their allergies. All they can do is hibernate for this period of time.

I was on caravan today looking at new listings and I am here to tell you there are some terrific deals on some fantastic homes! It is amazing what our inventory contains. If anyone has ever wanted to call Big Canoe home, now would be the time!

Come see the dogwood in bloom and the red buds splattered through the forest. What a site to behold!

Last year was an amazing year for sales in Big Canoe and we are off to a great start this year.
We had a winter wonderland a few weeks back with snow and ice coating the trees. Many residents turned into children and brought out sleds to slide down the hills. Of course they had a few aches and pains the next day. Thankfully, no major injuries were sustained.
Now Big Canoe is preparing for spring. Our first flowers of the year have poked their heads out and the Redbud trees are showing off their colors in grand style. So now is the time to plan a trip to our community, take advantage of all the great deals that are appearing in some of our listings. Call me today or just send me an email. I look forward to spending some time with you and helping you find the perfect home.

Ice Wonderland in Big Canoe

We were treated to an "Ice Wonderland" last night in Big Canoe. The trees are covered with about 1/2" of ice and are swaying to and fro. There are times like this when we just sit back, light a fire in the fireplace, pour a glass of wine and curl up with a great book. Now if there were snow on the ground, Chip Perry, my Broker at Perry Group Properties, would be outside with his two wonderful sons sleding down the road with their Great Dane puppy beside them!

Snow is rare in the South, but Big Canoe was treated to about 2" last night. What a treat to see the trees covered in white with sparkles of ice. You can become a child again when this happens. My husband wants to break out the sleds in the attic and slide down our driveway!
